Case Studies:
We examine similar existing case studies, the first is about subdivided housing in Hong Kong while the second is about an architect who turns a 420 q ft apartment into eight comfortable rooms.
We analyze the case studies and relate the to our problem. We learn from how the collect information. We study their solutions, finding their good points and their weaknesses. We try to fix their weaknesses and give suggestions on how to improve their solutions. We try to apply it to our problem.
Surveys:
We do an online survey (via surveymonkey) with a total of 100 respondents. We ask questions regarding their preference and opinion on their living spaces, like the size, the problems encountered, what they want and expect. They response helps us in designing the solution.
Interviews:
We interview three people of varying backgrounds. We ask similar questions as the survey, but followed by more in-depth questions. We ask for further reasons and explanations on their responses. We ask for personal opinions and thoughts.
